Removing recurring elements from filenames ?

Hi, Im currently experimenting with the tool a bit and getting some good use out of it. But then I was trying to do some renaming where I go through files in a directory and remove a certain string from the names of some of the files.

I tried doing this with the Rename and Filename Pattern Replacer nodes but couldnt get it to work. I guess I would expect Filename Pattern Replacer to do this? I guess its supposed to work in a way that I put in the "pattern" box what I want to be replaced and then in the "value" what I want it to be replaced with? but if I leave "value" blank I cant save the node options.

So am I doing something wrong or is that just not something that is possible rightnow ?

Just added a special keyword "EMPTY" (all caps, no quotes) to allow you to do do this.

Upgrade to Basic Nodes 1.0.10.473.

Updated the docs page to show this as well.

Ideally this would just allow empty in that field, but that would require an update in FileFlows itself, and not a plugin update.

Hi,
thanks for the quick reply, but unfortunately that doesnt seam to work. Instead or removing the string on my testfile it it now has EMPTY in the name three times. 😅

I had three different strings I wanted to check for and just put them all in one name + some other stuff and yeah...

try 1.0.10.475, I added logging to the node to show what the replacement is.

Hi, sorry for the late reply. I'm using the docker version on Unraid, so Im not sure of the latest version of the container is already up to 1.0.10.475 ?

Plugins can be updated from the plugins page. Shows what version you have and the latest version
